Chinese President Xi Jinping ended a three-day tour of the northwestern province of Qinghai on Wednesday by stressing its importance for maintaining order in neighbouring Xinjiang and Tibet.
He said the province, where around a quarter of the population are ethnic Tibetans, was a “model of national unity”, according to state news agency Xinhua.
