A brilliant achievement: Brunei marks 340 days without local Covid-19 transmissions

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 12 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Brunei continued its streak of no new Covid-19 cases on Sunday night (April 11), keeping the national tally at 219.

No local transmissions have been recorded for 340 days, while 10 active cases are receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre in Tutong District.

According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), 406 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after returning from abroad, while 16,574 have completed their mandatory self-isolation.

Over the past 24 hours, 170 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 117,020 tests.

Healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there have been 184 cases in Brunei-Muara District, 29 in Belait District and six in Tutong District.

Meanwhile, the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme has seen 5,028 individuals vaccinated since April 3, with 3,726 from Brunei-Muara District, 538 in Belait District, 446 in Tutong District and 288 in Temburong District.
