JAKARTA, Feb 2 (dpa): Mount Semeru, the highest volcano on Indonesia’s most densely populated island of Java, in East Java province spewed hot ash and other materials two kilometres down its slopes on Tuesday, an official said.
There were no reports of casualties as a result of the eruption, said Wawan Hadi Siswoyo, an official at the local civil protection agency.
