Asean and China vow to enhance ties

Visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Lim Jock Hoi, Asean secretary-general, with both sides pledging to further enhance China-Asean ties.

Among the relations between Asean and its partners, the China-Asean ties are the most dynamic and fruitful ones, and have become an important pillar for regional peace and stability, development and prosperity, Wang said.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the China-Asean dialogue relations.

Wang emphasised that China will continue to support the work of the Asean Secretariat and strengthen the China-Asean cooperation fund.

Meanwhile, Lim thanked China for its strong support to Asean’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. — Xinhua
