Bracing for new virus threat


PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte called infectious disease experts and the managers of the country’s Covid-19 response to a special meeting to discuss possible changes in policies to deal with the new coronavirus variant that has emerged in the United Kingdom, said presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

Duterte cut short his visit to Davao City, where he spent Christmas with his family, to return to Malacanang for the 6pm meeting yesterday with members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, Roque said.
