Cambodia stops sending labourers to Thailand

THE country has suspended sending labourers to neighboring Thailand after the latter reported a surge in Covid-19 infections in its Samut Sakhon province, some 300km away from the border.

In a statement issued on Monday to private recruitment agencies and relevant officials, Cambodia’s Labour Minister Ith Samheng said, “Sending MoU-based and seasonal labourers to Thailand must be temporarily suspended from now on until further notice.”
