TOKYO (Reuters): Bird flu has been detected in a fifth Japanese prefecture, the agriculture ministry said on Monday (Dec 7), as a wave of infections at poultry farms sparks Japan's worst outbreak in more than four years.

Avian influenza was discovered at two egg-producing farms in Mihara city, in south-western Japan's Hiroshima prefecture, the ministry said on its website.
