BANGKOK (Xinhua): A group of 22 Thai nationals were arrested by the Myanmar navy while sailing in the Andaman Sea early last month and have been detained on charges of illegal entry into Myanmar territorial waters, confirmed a senior Thai official on Friday (Dec 4).
The 22 Thais had hired a yacht, named Polaris One, and two Myanmar crewmembers to sail from Ranong shore in southern Thailand since Nov 6 only to be arrested a few days later by the Myanmar navy, according to the Thai army's Fifth Infantry Division Commander Maj Gen Santi Sakuntanak.
