Number of unemployed in HK doubles in a year

HONG KONG (China Daily/ANN): The number of unemployed persons in Hong Kong more than doubled in the third quarter when compared during the same period last year, according to a government survey.

According to the Quarterly Report on General Household Survey released on Monday (Nov 30) afternoon, the number of unemployed reached 259,800 in Q3 compared to 120,000 during the same period in 2019. The figure is also higher than the 240,700 recorded in the second quarter of this year.
