Thai female found infected with Covid-19 after slipping across border from Myanmar

BANGKOK, Nov 28 (Xinhua): A Thai female has been reportedly infected with the Covid-19 after she had illegally slipped across the border from eastern Myanmar to northern Thailand earlier this month, said a senior government official on Saturday.

Thailand's Department of Disease Control's acting director general Opas Kankawinphong confirmed in a press conference that the 29-year-old Thai woman had allegedly taken a natural path to cross the border from Shan state of Myanmar and Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai province of Thailand and failed to take a test for the Covid-19 upon entry into Thai territory.
