Japan's bird flu outbreak now in third prefecture, 140,000 chickens to be culled

TOKYO (Bernama): Some 146,000 chickens will be culled in the Japanese prefecture of Hyogo, which became the third region hit with this disease, reported Sputnik news agency, quoting Japan's media on Thursday (Nov 26).

The authorities have also introduced a quarantine for a 10-km area, where the movement of chickens and eggs will be banned, the Kyodo news agency reported.
