Aung San Suu Kyi meets with heads of Nippon Foundation, Myanmar Election Observation Team


YONGAN, Nov 11 (Eleven Media Group/ANN) - State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi met with the chairman of Nippon Foundation and leader of Myanmar Election Observation Team Mr. Yohei Sasakawa, also a special envoy of the government of Japan for the National reconciliation in Myanmar, at the office in Nay Pyi Taw on November 10 to discuss matters on election and peace according to the office of the State Counsellor.

Mr. Sasakawa praised the successful convening of a free and fair general election held on November 8 which followed the rules and guidelines for COVID-19. He congratulated the National league for Democracy (NLD) led by Aung San Suu Kyi for winning the election with overwhelming support of the people. He added that the Japanese government will provide necessary assistance from various sectors for the uplifting of socio-economic lives of Myanmar people.
