Stroke among leading causes of death in Brunei


STROKE is the fourth highest cause of death in Brunei, where on average, stroke patients are those aged between 55 and 60, while 17% of stroke sufferers are under the age of 45, Health Minister Mohd Isham said.

In a message to mark World Stroke Day on Thursday, he said 20% to 25% of stroke patients suffered a type of haemorrhagic stroke caused by bleeding, while the rest suffered a type of infarct stroke caused by blood clots.
