Township bans annual hot air balloon festival

Taunggyi township in Southern Shan state will not allow the hot air balloon festival to be held on the night of the full moon during Thadingyut, says township administrator Phyo Min Htike.

The Taunggyi Township Festival Observance Committee has banned the festival, which was scheduled to be held at a playground in Taunggyi township tomorrow, due to Covid-19.The committee said the hot air balloon amateur team had been informed about the cancellation.
