US voters are remembering Donald Trump’s unfulfilled promise to bring back jobs

HONG KONG, Oct 27 (SCMP): In May, United States Steel announced its fourth round of lay-offs, letting go 2,700 workers immediately with up to 6,500 employees possibly on the chopping block.

Once an example of President Donald Trump’s steel industry revival, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based steelmaker sent notices to thousands of workers in its headquarters and in states like Michigan, where working-class voters had helped propel Trump to the White House in 2016 amid a promised manufacturing renaissance that never materialised.
