OVER 15,000 people from more than 3,000 families have been relocated to temporary shelters in Savannakhet province since floodwaters inundated eight districts on Oct 6.
Deputy Director of the province’s Labour and Social Welfare Department, Thoummy Latsoulin, said on Thursday that 3,769 families (15,275 people) from 58 villages were now staying in shelters.
