Philippines' govt confirms boom in population in 2020 as Covid-19 surges near 320,000

MANILA, Oct 3 (dpa): An estimated 214,000 additional babies are expected to be born at the end of the year in the Philippines after many couples failed to use contraception during the coronavirus lockdown, a government agency said on Saturday (Oct 3).

And the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Philippines also surged to 319,330 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,674 new daily cases on Saturday.
