Guangdong's foreign trade grows 3.5 per cent in August


Guangdong's exports of integrated circuits grew by 26.6 per cent year-on-year in August, and exports of textile products including face masks, medical devices and pharmaceuticals continued to increase. - Reuters

GUANGZHOU (Xinhua): Foreign trade in south China's Guangdong Province increased 3.5 per cent year-on-year to 653.25 billion yuan (about US$96.5 billion) in August, customs statistics show.

Exports totalled 419.53 billion yuan, up 7.8 per cent year-on-year, and imports totalled 233.72 billion yuan, down 3.4 per cent, according to Guangdong customs.

In August, Guangdong's total import and export volumes with major trading partners Asean and the United States rose 9.3 per cent and 23.4 per cent respectively.

Guangdong's exports of integrated circuits grew by 26.6 per cent year-on-year in August, and exports of textile products including face masks, medical devices and pharmaceuticals continued to increase.

In the same period, imports of computers and computer components increased by 14.4 per cent, and household appliance imports by 28.3 per cent.
