India lockdown sees over 18 million job losses: report

NEW DELHI (Xinhua): The lockdown India went through since March 25 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic led to huge job losses across the country as almost all manufacturing and business activities came to a grinding halt.

According to the latest data issued by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), an independent think tank, over 18 million salaried employees lost their jobs during lockdown.
