The annual water festival originally scheduled from Oct 30 to Nov 1 has been cancelled in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus, according to a government’s letter released to the media.
The letter, which was released to the media on Thursday and signed by Cambodia’s ministers’ council permanent state secretary Hing Thoraxy, said that prime minister Hun Sen, after a request made by the country’s national festival organising committee, approved the cancellation of the festival on Aug 5.
