YANGON, Aug 8 (Xinhua): The number of public transport bus commuters surged to over 1.1 million in Yangon on Friday, showing upward trend compared to late July, an official from Yangon Region Transport Authority (YRTA) told Xinhua on Saturday.

Over 56 per cent of daily public transport commuters before the pandemic outbreak have resumed their daily commute on buses while the city life is returning back on track after the government lifted some restrictions taken to contain the spread of Covid-19.
