BEIJING, July 24 (China Daily/ANN) Beijing said on Thursday that US allegations that China's consulate in Houston operated outside ordinary diplomatic norms are "malicious slander", saying Washington's move seriously damages bilateral ties.
The United States said on Wednesday it had given China 72 hours to close the consulate "to protect American intellectual property and Americans' private information".
