BEIJING: More than 12,000 illegal websites and over 8.4 million pieces of harmful information in cyberspace, including pornography, were cracked down on and eliminated in the first six months of this year, an official statement said.
The National Office Against Pornographic and Illegal Publications said yesterday that it solved more than 1,800 cases from January to June, strictly fighting vulgar and pornographic content online, as well as launching a special campaign in major industries such as short video, livestreaming and online literature.
