Covid-19 cases in Philippines exceed 40,000 with record high of 1,531 new infections

MANILA, July 3 (Xinhua): The number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines soared to 40,336 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,531 new cases on Friday, the country's biggest single-day jump so far.

The DOH said in its bulletin that the number of recoveries further rose to 11,073 after 400 more patients have survived the disease.
