Myanmar approves loan from World Bank for farmers

NAY PYI TAW: Myanmar's parliament has approved to receive US$200mil loans from the International Development Association (IDA) of World Bank to help farmers under the country's National Food and Agriculture System Project.

The initial plan was to obtain US$85mil loans when the project was launched, but later the loan amount was extended to US$200mil following the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, Deputy Minister U Hla Kyaw for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation told the parliamentary meeting.
