KL Marathon moved to Oct 10

PETALING JAYA: The Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon has been moved to Oct 10.

The seventh edition of the US$125,000 (RM476,000) event, which was originally scheduled on Oct 4, is now the flagship event of the National Sports Day at Dataran Merdeka.

“We thank Dirigo Events (the organisers) and Standard Chartered Bank for agreeing to move the KL Marathon date in support of the National Sports Day,” said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in a statement released Monday.

“It’s very significant to have the support of 35,000 runners. We recognise that the date change will pose some challenges to the runners and organisers,” added Khairy.
