RM5 scarf fee for lady visitors

OF late female visitors to Batu Caves are charged RM5 for a piece of flimsy cloth to wrap around their head and body.

Visitors are required to pay RM10 as deposit and when the scarf is returned, they would refund RM5.

With due respect, we must wear appropriate clothing while visiting places of worship such as temples and mosques.

I wonder if those collecting RM5 for the scarf has permission to do so from the temple committee? And where does the money collected for the scarf go? Who takes care of the accounts?

When I enquired, one of the girls told me that the money collected from the rental of scarfs goes to Hindu Sangam.

Most of the tourist guides are not happy with this sudden implementation for female visitors to rent a scarf when visiting the temple at Batu Caves.
