I STARTED driving taxis in the year 2000 and gave up in 2010. In the beginning, Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) was an oasis of calm and harmony, despite being thronged by tourists marvelling at the world’s tallest buildings.
The two entrances to the KLCC shopping centre used to be manned by smartly dressed and courteous doormen. They would open car doors and allow passengers to get in or out of vehicles in a stately manner.
