Grim task: Firemen removing the body from the pond in Pokok Sena.

ALOR SETAR: The body of a man believed to be Nepalese was found floating in a pond near a quarry in Jabi, Pokok Sena here.

No identification papers were found on the body.

Batu Kawi Quarry site clerk Faridah Noor, 44, spotted the body in the pond about 100m from her workplace when she checked out a foul smell coming from there.

“I could not stand the stench. I thought it was from the carcass of a dog.

Faridah then alerted a few workers at the quarry about the body. One of them called the police.
