Khalid Samad held for sedition probe over #KitaLawan

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS Central Committee member Khalid Samad (pic) was arrested here early Sunday under Section 143 of the Penal Code to assist investigations into the #Kitalawan gathering in the city on Saturday.

Kuala CID chief, SAC Zainuddin Ahmad said Khalid, who is also Shah Alam Member of Parliament, was detained at his house, at 2.30am.

"Khalid was taken to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters for further investigations," he said when contacted by Bernama.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat Organising chief secretary (Jingga 13 head coordinator) Fariz Musa was detained on Saturday at Petaling Street at 8pm to help in investigations on the same matter.

On Saturday, a #KitaLawan gathering, which started at the Jamek Mosque before gathering at the Sogo Shopping Complex and ended at KLCC, was held in a controlled atmosphere without any provocation.

The gathering was in support of Opposition Leader and PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is undergoing a five-year jail sentence for sodomy. - Bernama
