BANTING: The notorious Klang gangster “Asli Guna”, who was knifed to death over a drug dispute, had been held four times under the Emergency Ordinance and detained in Simpang Renggam. Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Azman Abdul Razak said the 35-year-old victim, who was a member of Gang 24, also had two previous records for robbery.
“Gang 24 mostly base their operations in Klang. Asli Guna was in Banting to have drinks with his friend when they were attacked by three men armed with parang.
“We believe that drug dispute was the motive behind the murder but we are still investigating if there are other elements involved,” he said.
Supt Azman said Asli Guna was having drinks with a Nepalese friend at a restaurant on Jalan Pandan 2 in Teluk Panglima Garang when they were ambushed by the men at about 3am on Wednesday.
A brawl soon ensued in the middle of the street between the men.
The men slashed Asli Guna and his friend with parang before fleeing the scene in a black Proton Iswara.
Asli Guna died after he was slashed three to four times on his head but his friend escaped with minor injuries.
