SHAH ALAM: A man allegedly beat a teenager to death – because of the noise from the 14-year-old’s motorcycle.
Form Two student Ibnu Asyraf Mazlan was testing his motorcycle with two friends in Bestari Jaya, Kuala Selangor, on Sunday night.
The man, 30, confronted the student and allegedly hit him on the right thigh with what is believed to be a steel rod.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the boy died later from loss of blood.
He said police were alerted to the incident at about 11.40pm after Ibnu Asyraf was pronounced dead at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
“The hospital received a call requesting for an ambulance at about 10.40pm,” said SAC Mohd Adnan. “They tried to save the victim but he succumbed to his injury.”
SAC Mohd Adnan said the suspect was arrested at the guardhouse of the factory where he worked several hours after the incident.
“Our checks revealed that he did not have a police record,” he added.
Police believe the noise from the victim’s motorcycle might have prompted the attack.
