KUALA LUMPUR: A man and a woman, believed to be a couple, were found dead in a silver Mercedes Benz, apparently from committing suicide, in Taman Metropolitan Batu in Kampung Batu, Sentul.
Security guard Faris Izham Kamaruddin, 21 said he spotted the couple driving into the are at around 12pm Tuesday.
Five-hours later, joggers came shouting for help before he found the couple motionless inside the vehicle, which was filled with black smoke.
"I took a fire extinguisher and smashed the back window. When I got to them, the woman was breathing slightly but her face and eyes looked lifeless.
"The smell of exhaust fumes were really strong," Faris Izham said.
Fire and Rescue department officers and an ambulance arrived on the scene at 5.30pm, when they were pronounced dead.
Faris Izham said the couple had been frequenting the park for the last four months.
"They would come in the Mercedes or a black Proton Saga, either in the morning or evening.
"Tthey would just park the car by the lake and just sit there and talk. They never came out of their cars," he said.
Sentul OCPD ACP Zakaria Pagan said the pair had been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
"We are investigating the possibility of this being a suicide but have classified it as sudden death. We found no element of foul play in the case," he said.
