Another blow for boxer after father dies


JOHOR BARU: Weeks after landing in hospital following a brawl involving a VIP, national boxer Muhamad Farkhan Mohd Haron received another blow when his father, Mohd Haron Ismail, 50, succumbed to a heart attack on Sunday.

It was recently reported that Muhamad Farkhan's dream of competing in the Olympics from July 27 to Aug 12 was dashed after doctors told him to rest for at least six months to recover from injuries sustained in the brawl.
