KUANTAN: The police are now investigating the protest at the DAP office here last Friday (MAY 23) after three police reports have been lodged on the incident.
Kuantan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Salleh said the case would be investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for acts of mischief.
“No arrest has been made so far. We will gather evidence and investigate the reports thoroughly before submitting the case to the deputy public prosecutor,” he said when contacted recently.
A group of about 20 youth, calling itself Pemuda Melayu Pahang, showed up at the DAP office in Jalan Berserah here at about 3pm Friday and proceeded to throw eggs at the door.
They were protesting Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer’s remark of “Umno celaka” uttered during the Penang state assembly sitting.
The men also kicked at the door and hit the DAP signboard with a stick.
They later burnt several pieces of paper with Rayer’s picture and DAP’s logo on it.
The group left a memorandum at the door and dispersed about half an hour later since no one was at the office at the time.
