A TALK on tips and techniques on how women can carry themselves more confidently was organised by WEVents, a women-only social group.
The talk conducted by BrandImage International Institute was entitled, “The Confident You”.
“We are running three events this year under ‘The You Series’. We want professional working women who attend these events to be reminded of their unique identity and empowerment as a woman,” said WEVents founder Jeanisha Wan,
“Many of our members and regular participants wanted to know how they could make a difference as working women. In the past, many of our events had fashion or beauty themes,” added Wan.
Certified brand image consultant Michelle Tan said the way women dressed could impact the way they were perceived professionally.
“We are the way we dress. Neglected and untidy clothes reflect a neglected and untidy mind. So I wanted to demonstrate how women can be more confident through their attire and exude confidence. While how one dresses is important, it is just one aspect.”
Tan also shared how the colour of attire can make a difference. Wearing colours such as black, dark grey and dark blue can help women look more professional.
She encouraged women to dress in vivid colours if they want to project confidence as bold people take calculated risks with the colours they wear.
WEVents events are only for working women and are aimed at providing them with an avenue to express themselves freely, either by attending or volunteering.
“Our next event will be celebrating WEVents’ fourth anniversary with the theme, ‘The Retro You’,” said Wan.
