ABOUT 1,550 units of low-cost houses are being built by the government in its bid to enable the poor to own homes.

State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad (BN-Kota Tampan) said various agencies, including the state government’s public housing unit, State Secretary Incorporated (SSI), the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) and Yayasan Bina Upaya (YBU) were currently building these houses.
