THE removal of swiftlet houses in the George Town Unesco World Heritage Site was not completed by the Dec 31 deadline, according to Penang Heritage Trust (PHT).
In an email to Penang Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow and the press, PHT council member Rebecca Duckett questioned the state’s pledge to remove the swiftlet houses in the heritage zone by the deadline.
