Property expo expects 10,000 visitors

KUCHING: Organisers of the annual Sheda Property Expo are expecting 10,000 visitors for the three-day event starting Friday.

Organising chairman Kevin Choo said the expo, which has been held since 1998, has always attracted thousands.

“Although the general view is that property prices now are high, the property market in Sarawak has always been and remains competitive,” Choo told reporters here this week.

All of the 113 booths offered for the expo had been taken up, he said. “Local and foreign property developers will be featured. Booths were also taken by financiers, councils, interior decorators and even car dealers.”

Sarawak developers to be featured include sponsors Ibraco Bhd, Naim Land, Lee Onn Construction, MJC City Development and CMS Property Development.

“We have also scheduled five talks aim at educating the public on the current market trends and projections in Sarawak and Malaysia. Speakers include REI Group of Companies chief executive Dr Daniele Gambero,” Choo said.

Sheda (Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association) will hold the exhibition at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.

The expo is managed by Absolute Cool Events. Other sponsors include Federal Paint and NS Bluescope Malaysia.
