STARLIVE is plugging issues surrounding water wastage in this month’s session on Nestle’s Water Guide: Save Every Drop.
The forum will cover pointers on a vital element of life that is sorely taken for granted, namely clear – or more importantly – drinkable water.
It will be hosted by Nestle Products Sdn Bhd chief engineer Hasmukhpinder Singh, better known as Hutch.
Hutch’s experience covers maintenance, energy and water sustainability, and he will shed light on the role every individual can play to conserve water in daily life.
“We will also touch on the role a corporate entity like Nestle plays in their environment, as our concept of social responsibility has evolved into what we call ‘creating shared value’ (CSV).
“The concept states that for a company to be successful over time, it must also create value for society, simultaneously creating economic and social values.
Hutch hopes to instil participants with essentials that can be adopted immediately as first steps towards contributing to the environment through water conservation.
“Basic small actions, which applied collectively, lead to a strong water conservation mindset that gets embedded in our daily routine.
“It is through this living of a mindset that we can bring the change required in truly appreciating our water resources,” he said.
He added that among the three key areas Nestle focused on were nutrition, water and environment, besides rural development.
In an effort to encourage children to pick up environmentally friendly habits, children aged between four and seven are also invited to join a colouring contest that will be held as part of the StarLIVE session.
A total of RM2,800 worth of prizes are to be won, while all participants of the StarLIVE talk will receive a Nestle goodie bag.
The StarLIVE session will be held on Saturday from 10.30am to 1pm at Menara Star, No.15, Jalan 16/11, Petaling Jaya.
