YTL coffee table book is Gourmand World Cookbook Awards winner

A Perennial Feast is a gastronomic journey that begins in Malaysia, the home of the YTL Group, and takes the reader through Asia and Europe.

A Perennial Feast, YTL Hotels’ culinary coffee table book, emerged as a country winner in three award categories at the annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2013: Best Entertainment Cookbook, Best Corporate Cookbook and Best Cookbook Photography in Malaysia.

The book showcases the culinary excellence that is best exemplified by hospitality group’s hotels, resorts and restaurants worldwide. It is written by Kim Inglis, with photographs by Jacob Termansen.

Winners from each country will move on to compete for The Best in the World. The results will be announced at the annual Awards event, taking place from May 19 to 21 at the Beijing Cookbook Fair. There are 187 countries participating this year.

A Perennial Feast, published by Talisman Publishing, is a gastronomic journey that begins in Malaysia, the home of the YTL Group, and takes the reader through Asia and Europe.

In Malaysia, island resorts, city heritage hotels and restaurants are showcased, and there is also an overview of Malay cuisine.

Traditional Malay fare such as beef rendang is highlighted alongside East-meets-West fusion dishes like Haw Mok Talay (Thai-style seafood terrine) and innovative seafood recipes including Seared Red Snapper with Gnocchi, Black Olives and Sun-dried Tomatoes.

Home cooks will find the carefully researched signature dishes, as selected by the Group’s celebrated chefs de cuisine for authenticity, taste and visual appeal, easy to recreate in their own kitchens.

Our vision of fulfilling a series of uniquely crafted coffee table books has come true and we aspire to publish more books for avid readers and travellers in the future”, explains Datuk Mark Yeoh, executive director, YTL Hotels.

A Perennial Feast, priced at RM125, is available at major bookstores in Malaysia.
