Can a Catalan chef at La Bodega Malacca convince diners of its Spanish taste?

Malacca gets its own La Bodega as chef Basilio Martin fires up the kitchen and sends out a menu flavoured to tempt the locals with a Spanish heritage.

The thing about a restaurant franchise is it is chained together by a common DNA. Baked in the same mould, there's no reason to get excited over the opening of another outlet. Unless you live in Malacca, where the Klang Valley-originated La Bodega has set-up a restaurant at the new Shore Shopping Gallery, bringing a winning big city formula to a history-steeped small town.
