PETALING JAYA: Masterskill Education Group Bhd (MEGB), which recently gained a new major shareholder, has announced several boardroom appointments.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said it had appointed Gen (rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Shahrom Nordin as chairman, while former chairman and executive director Siva Kumar M. Jeyapalan had been redesignated as director.
Shahrom is currently chairman of construction firm TRC SYNERGY BHD and executive director (defence & business) at National Aerospace & Defence Industries Sdn Bhd.
Other new MEGB directors appointed are SMRT Group founder Datuk Dr Paliniappan Ramanathan Chettiar, Creador Sdn Bhd managing director Loh Kok Leong, CIMB’s former head of co-investor and fund relations Darawati Hussain, Datuk Dr Mohana Dass Ramasamy, and Leou Thiam Lai.
Arenga Pinnata Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of private equity firm Creador II, launched the takeover offer on Jan 12. The company teamed up with SMRT HOLDINGS BHD in the exercise, collectively buying a 30.7% stake in MEGB from Siva Kumar.
