EPF takes profit on Maybank share price gains

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund Board (EPF) disposed of 6.338 million shares of Malayan Banking Bhd over two days recently as it locked in gains.

A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed the EPF sold 3.549 million shares on March 31 and 2.788 million shares on April 1. 

Maybank closed at RM9.32 and RM9.34 respectively over the two trading days.

After the sale of the shares, the EPF’s shareholding the country’s top bank was reduced to 1.164 billion shares or 14.49%, based on its paid-up of 9.322 billion shares.
