Experimental features for the Firefox browser can now be tested on smartphones and tablets in addition to desktop computers.

The first feature users can test out on their mobile devices is the Notes extension, says the developer, Mozilla.

A Firefox account as well as a Firefox Sync account are required to activate this expansion feature for Android devices, after which Notes can be used and kept up to date across several devices.

End-to-end encryption should guarantee the security of users' data.

An additional test feature called Lockbox is available only for iOS devices and is a password safe that syncs users' saved logins with their Firefox account. However, this experimental feature is initially available only in English-speaking countries, says Mozilla. — dpa
