Powered by HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor, the Honor 10 has 4GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage and runs on Android 8.1.

Honor 10, the latest flagship smartphone launched by Honor Malaysia, has what most other high-end devices don’t – an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is hidden under the screen and is claimed to work even when the user’s finger is wet or greasy.

The smartphone has a 5.84in full HD+ (2,280 x 1,080 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio that’s curved all around with a mirror-like glass back.

Honor Malaysia head George Zhao claims that the dual rear cameras – 24-megapixel and 16-megapixel – take amazing photographs thanks to its new and improved AI capability.

“Honor 10 was specially engineered and designed for photography enthusiasts,” said Zhao at the launch in Petaling Jaya.

It reportedly uses the Semantic Image Segmentation technology to separate different layers from an image and adjust them individually.

For example, if a photograph has a human, animal and greenery with a blue sky, the AI will be able to identify and work on them separately to bring out the best of each element.

He also said that the Honor 10 has an advanced facial recognition technology that doesn’t distort the faces of the people in a group when the Bokeh effect is applied.

“It will recognise the faces in the group photo, and only blur the background – not the people you want to take a photo with. There is also an AI button that you can use to adjust the photo after it is taken,” Zhao said.

On the front it has a 24-megapixel sensor with “facial lighting compensation” which supposedly ensures that users get the best lighting effect for their selfies.

Powered by HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor, the Honor 10 has 4GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage and runs on Android 8.1 with Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 user interface.

With a 3,400mAh battery, the device is expected to last for a full day, and the SuperCharge feature reportedly can get it up to 50% in just 25 minutes.

Going on sale starting May 24, the Honor 10 is priced at RM1,699 and comes in Phantom Blue, Phantom Green, Midnight Black and Glacier Grey.

However, if you purchase the device between May 24 to May 31, you can get it for only RM1,599. For more information visit hihonor.com/my.
