Traditionally games are played and won with thumbs. But one creative and moderately priced gaming gadget is extending controls to the feet for more control in VR gaming.

Unveiled last week at the CES electronics fair, the 3dRudder Blackhawk lets you move your character by moving your feet, thus freeing up your hands to control other parameters of the game.

But don't expect to have to get up and walk around. This foot controller is made to work from a seated position.

The Blackhawk controller works with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift for games bought on the SteamVR and Oculus stores. It also runs on Microsoft's mixed reality platform.

The controller is said to cost US$139 (RM547) and is set for release in the first half of 2018. — dpa
