Hyundai IONIQ Car Sharing Amsterdam © Hyundai

A new service will offer the inhabitants of Amsterdam free-floating access to a fleet of 100 plug-in electric Hyundai Ioniqs.

The idea behind the service is simple – residents and visitors to the city can use the cars as they like and can park them in a number of places when finished; there is no need to return them to a centralized depot or parking complex as long as the car is returned to Amsterdam itself. The service is managed via a smartphone app that will show users where the closest car is, and will let them either reserve it for later use or book it immediately.
