Worldwide wearable device sales to grow 17%: report

STAR PERFORMER: Strategy Analytics estimates that some four million units of Apple Watches were shipping during the second quarter of this year, compared to the 4.6 million smartwatches that were shipped in 2014.

DUBAI: Gartner, Inc forecasts that 310.4 million wearable devices will be sold worldwide in 2017, an increase of 16.7% from 2016. 

Sales of wearable devices will generate revenue of US$30.5bil (RM127.93bil) in 2017. Of that, US$9.3bil (RM39bil) will be from smartwatches.
