European mobile phone maker Fairphone has withdrawn support for its first phone, the Fairphone 1, after the company announced that the cost of spare parts has reached breaking point.
Originally launched in May 2013, the Fairphone 1 was created with sustainability at its core, focusing on using fair, conflict-free materials, good working conditions, and long product life, with the company offering spare parts and software maintenance – until now.
